About The Role Join a dynamic IT service team as a Sys Admin - Tier 2 Support, where your expertise in networking and systems administration will ensure seamless technology operations for our clients. You’ll provide advanced technical support, mentor Tier 1 specialists, and resolve complex network and system issues to deliver exceptional client experiences. Location/Work Arrangement/Type
- Location: Based in New Jersey (preferred) or New York.
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid – some days on-site at client locations in the NY/NJ area, others remote handling support tickets.
- Contract Type: Full-time, 40-hour work week.
- Additional Notes: Flexibility for different shifts and on-call availability required. Travel to client sites beyond standard commuting distances will be compensated.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to Tier 1 Service Specialists, guiding them on complex escalations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced network issues (WAN/LAN, switches, routers, firewalls) and system-related challenges (workstations, servers, virtual environments).
- Implement and support Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365.
- Engineer and deploy tailored system and network solutions to meet client needs.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with clients, providing updates on incidents, changes, and outages.
- Document system and network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps accurately.
- Support disaster recovery solutions and maintain network security through firewall and VPN management.
- Conduct system and network reviews, recommending enhancements for performance and security.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and pursue relevant certifications.

Required Skills & Experience - High school diploma or GED.
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in technical support or systems/network specialist roles, with a strong emphasis on networking.
- CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Fundamentals (MS-900, AZ-900, etc.) certification.
- Commitment to obtain one associate-level certification within one year (training provided), such as:
- Microsoft Associate Certifications (AZ-801, AZ-104, etc.)
- CompTIA Network+
- IT Glue Certified Professional Level 1
- SonicWALL SNSA
- Fortinet FCA
- Cisco CCST
- VMware VCTA
- Other vendor or industry-specific associate-level certifications.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving issues across networks (WAN/LAN, switches, routers, firewalls), workstations, servers, and applications.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Parallels) and remote access solutions (VPN, Terminal Services).
- Familiarity with IT service management principles and support tools.
